So what do you do?
You need to begin by setting out your overall goal. This may sound really obvious, but a mistake made by many people is to have a fuzzy idea about what their goal is, or worse still, absolutely no idea at all. What do you want to achieve? Chances are, if you're reading this blog, you want to lose weight, or maybe you've already lost weight and you just want to burn stomach fat and tone up a bit. Either way, get a really clear-set idea in your head about what you are going to achieve, and when you plan to achieve that by.
The second step is to break your plan down into a series of much smaller plans. Large plans are notoriously difficult to stick to because there's very little focus. Why do you think that in every business model plans are broken down into much smaller plans? Because they're easier to stick to! So your first plan might be something like you will create a routine of exercise and stick to it. The second plan might be to change your diet, and so-on.
Your third step toward helping you burn stomach fat is to list the benefits of what you're doing. And when I say list, write it down somewhere. A sheet of paper, a noticeboard in your house where you can see it, a note on your mobile phone, it really doesn't matter. But make sure that you list how your life will be better when you achieve those goals. Perhaps your confidence will increase, or you'll be able to go out with friends more often, or you'll be able to buy yourself a new wardrobe. Whatever the benefits may be, get them listed.
Fourth step is to reward yourself. This is important, and something that many people forget in any plan that they put together. When you achieve certain goals, give yourself a reward of some kind. So if you're trying to burn stomach fat, your reward might be that you allow yourself a small food treat, but better still would be to arrange a night out, or buy something that you've wanted, whatever works for you.
The final step, which may be a new thought to most people, is to share everything that you've just done with a close friend or family. It's been proven that putting something out in public is a much better way of achieving a goal because you're not just accountable for yourself, but you actually become accountable to someone else. It's a method that I've used in almost every plan that I put into action, and I can vouch for the fact that it genuinely works!
