Now I know that if you've been reading my blogs or newsletters before I may sound like a broken record here, but I really can't stress the importance of this enough, because it has such a huge negative effect and so many people do this. Eating a good breakfast is totally crucial if you want to burn stomach fat.
So why do so many people skip it?
I've always assumed it was because people were too busy, or didn't have enough time when they got up in the morning.
But when you speak to people, you often get a different story. Many people actually believe that skipping breakfast is the best thing for them. They believe that it sets their day off the right way, because they believe that in order to burn stomach fat and lose weight, you have to stop eating. And this couldn't be further from the truth.
Let's get some facts out there. Skipping breakfast starts you out the WRONG way. It makes you hungry early on, which means you're far more likely to snack and eat as the day goes on. Many people tend to reach for fatty foods or high sugar foods when they're snacking, so there's a greater chance of you filling up on the wrong kinds of food too.
Also, many breakfast foods have been deliberately produced to give you the right start to your day, containing all the nutrients, minerals and vitamins that you need on a daily basis, so opting to miss it out can be a real mistake. If you're in a real rush to get out of the door in the morning, cereal bars or liquid breakfasts like a smoothie can be a great idea instead. Avoid fast food or mega-snacky alternatives like muffins as they're just junk and will just fill you up with calories early on in the day.
